Ceramic sculpture of ball games player were used as funeral offering in the tombs of important men who were skillful player in the game . The sculpture of the ball player is holding large rubber ball closed to the chest. Ball game were an important part of Mesoamerican ceremonies that also had music, dance and drama etc. Is depicted wearing pants to protect his lower body as the ball was thrown from the hips.
